![]() ![]() We can install and activate no problem on 10.10. That is exactly what we thought the issue was: that the activation servers were down, as they are for some older versions of the CS suite.īut we found out that the issue was actually the activation application itself on Mojave, at least on a bog standard 10.14 install on a APFS partition. Maybe Adobe still has a procedure for this? It's a software issue with the Adobe activation program for a new install under Mojave.ĭoes CS6 use the same activation servers as CC? Are those servers even active anymore? You used to be able to do offline activations long ago. Apple not using activation means so much. ![]() (We have the installer DVDs for 10.6, but no working DVD drives since they all got swapped out for second internal drives on every computer, and handicapping working hardware to put back in a DVD Drive seems like a bad choice anyway, since we do not even know if the DVD drives still work.) Side note: Hooray for system software that does not need activation, and is completely portable between machines! As confusing as this is to sort out, it is only hard because of Adobe's activation system. The hardware failure was on a computer running 10.9, and we could not find installers for system 10.9, so we started where we could still download system installers from Apple, and that is 10.10. But we only have 10.6 systems and machines, not installers, so we would have had to install on a "dirty" system, and then upgrade, and the new to us hardware could not boot from 10.6 anyway, so we working bouncing systems between hardware that could do 10.6, and 10.10+. At first we thought we might have to rewind to 10.6 to activate, since we know that works. It does work under a new CS6 install on a new 10.10 install on HFS+, which is where we did the new test install, which is up and running now. The particular application for activation does not work under a standard Mojave install on APFS. It's an actual software issue with the activation application,at least on a bog standard 10.14 install on a APFS partition. Too many existing installations for that serial number maybe? Contact Adobe to deactivate that lost copy? ![]()
